why do recruiters ghost

- recruiters often ghost because they are juggling hundreds of candidates and heavy admin work, not because they do not care
- follow up with your recruiter yourself, do not assume they will always reach out first
- check in once or twice a week for the first few weeks after meeting a recruiter, then ease off
- text or email recruiters instead of calling since most are in meetings all day and will not pick up
- remember the hiring company pays the recruiter, not the job seeker, so communication is not always guaranteed
