- before a conference pick five to ten speakers you actually want to meet instead of trying to see everyone
- you dont have to attend every session, choose a handful of must see talks and give yourself breaks
- connect with every person you meet on social media right away since a business card alone usually gets forgotten
- stick near one or two people you already know at a conference to get introduced into new circles in the hallway track
- its fine to skip sessions and rest in your hotel room if a conference starts feeling overwhelming
