- expect recruiters to test you and ask for references before submitting you to a client
- always ask your recruiter to share the actual test results with you, not just a pass or fail
- if you bomb a skills test, ask the recruiter to let you retake it rather than giving up
- stick with a small handful of recruiters you trust instead of testing with every recruiter you meet
- while in school or bootcamp, do free work for your network to gain real experience for your resume
