dealing with recruiters
with taylor desseyn (solo)
- if a recruiter dms you a role that doesn't fit, send screening questions back or just don't respond and move on
- recruiters get paid by companies through commission, not by candidates, so never pay a recruiter for help finding a job
- if there's no job posting for an interview, ask the recruiter for the actual intake notes from the hiring manager
- practice your elevator pitch out loud and record yourself to catch habits and improve how you sound in interviews
- to find fair pay, research ranges and talk openly with trusted peers in your field instead of relying on vague titles like junior or senior
