hiring better
with taylor desseyn (solo)
- hire your leadership team first before bringing on a wave of developers at a small company or startup
- agree on rate expectations with your recruiter upfront so you are not backtracking after an offer goes out
- do not reject a candidate solely because of resume formatting or typos, talk to them first to see if they have the skills
- stay open to contract, contract to hire, and direct hire options since the tight market wont always give you the perfect direct hire candidate
- stick to the interview process you promised a candidate, adding extra rounds damages trust and makes candidates think the company is dragging them along
